Hello everyone. My name is Katrice and this actually not my first time blogging, but it has been 5 + years since I've written one, so I am a little rusty. I have a background in Journalism, so blogging and reading blogs kind of goes with the territory. Currently, I am working on my Master's in Public Administration with a concentration in Public Management. For the last three and a half years, I have worked in the realm of public service and have grown to love it. This is what influenced me to go back to school and pursue my master's. I love being a civil servant and helping others; it is so rewarding and fulfilling to me.
Although this is not my first time blogging, it kind of feels like it because as aforementioned, it's been quite some time since I've done this. Over the next few weeks, I will be writing blogs about leadership. These blogs are purely my opinion and take on the area of leadership and what it truly means to be a leader. I'm sure as you're reading this, at least two people whom wear the title of leader popped into your head. If not, just turn on your TV or go outside and ponder on the thought for a moment and ask yourself: What leaders are in my life? Are leaders born or made? Does this come natural to them or is it something they had to work at? These are just some of the topics pertaining to leadership that were discussed in my class recently.
In no way am I professing that I am an expert on leadership, however I am taking a leadership class and learning and reading about the topic. It is my expectation that from this class, I can learn and share my findings and opinion on the topic with you all. I welcome your comments and criticisms on my posts. I'm a firm believer that the best learning occurs through interactions with others.
I will be posting this blog on a weekly basis. Therefore, be on the lookout for a post between Friday and Sunday each week. The direct link to my posts is: http://kgilder86.blogspot.com/.
My main prerogative for writing this blog is to both gain and offer insight into the realm of leadership. Plus, it doesn't hurt that this is part of a class assignment. I want to redevelop my journalistic skills and I hope that my posts can serve as a source of information to someone. I look forward to the feedback, good and bad, and my return to the world of blogging!!
